Useful Resources
Books:
The publishers A & C Black do a great series of spiral-bound children’s song books which have become classics of their kind, including: Alleluya, Apusskidu, Flying A Round, Okki-tokki-unga, Sonsense Nongs and Ta-ra-ra Boom-de-ay. All of these books are available in versions containing lyrics and music for piano and guitar. Some have accompanying CD’s.

Internet:
Usually the quickest way to find the full lyrics to a song is to type its title into the Google search engine, plus the word “lyrics” (and “chords” or “tabs” if desired). Many of these songs have countless variations, but that only makes things more interesting.
There are several extremely useful websites for ideas and lyrics for these kinds of songs. Some play the tune for you, or at least tell you what famous tune the lyrics can fit.
Campfire songs tend to be easy to learn and teach, so scouting resources are handy.
